July has officially arrived, and Gilbert is fully in summer mode. The days are hot, the nights are lively, and this week brings one of those classic community moments where everyone seems to have a plan, whether it’s fireworks, food, family, or a little bit of all three.

Before you celebrate, take a look at the local updates that can make the weekend smoother. A few simple reminders can go a long way in keeping our neighborhoods safe and enjoyable for everyone.

🎆 Gilbert's Fourth of July Blueprint

The Gist: Town offices are closing this Saturday, July 4, for Independence Day, but your regular trash and recycling collection won't miss a beat. If you're planning some backyard celebrations, remember that state law only allows non-aerial fireworks on private property through July 6.

Why It Matters If you're lighting ground-based fountains in the driveway, please soak them in a bucket of water for 24 hours before bagging them up for the black trash bin. Taking care of our trash and keeping the skies clear helps keep our neighborhoods safe and our local first responders breathing a little easier.

What's Next The big drone-and-fireworks show at Gilbert Regional Park kicks off this Saturday at 8:50 PM, weather permitting.

🚔 Heading Out of Town? Gilbert PD Offers Vacation Watch

The Gist The Gilbert Police Department has launched its summer Vacation Watch Program to provide extra patrols for your home while you are away. To get your property on the schedule, you just need to submit a request at least one week before you head out. The free service is available for up to eight weeks at a time, though it does not apply to homes currently up for sale.

Why It Matters: This program gives our community invaluable peace of mind so we can actually relax and unwind during our summer travels. It is a wonderful reminder of how our local officers look out for us, and a great cue for the rest of us to secure our windows, put lights on timers, and keep our neighborhood safe.

Skipping the chaotic community park parking but still want that effortless Fourth of July energy? Backyard Gilbert is the move. Their climate-controlled patio features rolling garage doors that let the summer breeze in while keeping the heat out, creating the hangout to kick back with friends over the long weekend.

Go for smash burgers and the Backyard Nachos, and one of their signature draft cocktails or a cold beer. It is a setup built for staying cool, watching the game on the big screens, and enjoying a relaxed holiday vibe without the fuss.

This local shop carries calming chews, thunder shirts, lick mats, and anxiety wraps. To get the best calming effect for the fourth, starting their regimen by July 1st is highly recommended.
