💼 Gilbert Tops U.S. Cities for Economic Growth

The Gist: A new national study shows Gilbert leading all mid-sized U.S. cities in economic growth, with the Phoenix metro claiming 8 of the top 10 spots overall. Between 2019 and 2023, the Valley saw GDP climb 42%, roadway miles expand nearly 26%, and new business applications surge by 61%.

Why It Matters: Gilbert isn’t just growing in size, it’s thriving in opportunity: bringing more jobs, housing, and businesses that strengthen the local economy. More than 400 companies are considering expanding or relocating to Arizona. Read more here.

👩‍🏫 Community Leaders Join Forces for Gilbert Youth

The Gist: Mayor Scott Anderson and Gilbert Police’s Youth Engagement Officer Emily King recently met with leaders from local public, private, and charter schools to talk about keeping kids safe and supported this school year. The roundtable, part of the Advancing Gilbert’s Education Team, touched on campus safety, preventing teen violence, and creating pathways to college and jobs.

Why It Matters: These partnerships help ensure Gilbert kids have the resources, role models, and opportunities they need to thrive. The group will meet again in early October. Read more here.
