🚗 Tesla’s Robotaxis Hit the Streets in Arizona

The Gist: Tesla is stepping up testing of its self-driving Robotaxis in the Phoenix metro area, with vehicles spotted in Gilbert and Tempe equipped with LiDAR validation gear.
The move marks a major step toward launching Tesla’s autonomous ride-hailing service in Arizona, following pilot programs in Austin and the Bay Area.

Why It Matters: Arizona could be one of the next states to experience Tesla’s driverless ride service, part of Elon Musk’s push to reach half the U.S. population by year’s end.

🚓 Gilbert Police Earn State Grant to Boost Roadway Safety

The Gist: The Gilbert Police Department has received new grant funding from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to strengthen traffic safety efforts across town. The 2026 funds will support overtime enforcement focused on reducing speeding, DUIs, and improving pedestrian and bicycle safety.

Why It Matters: The grant helps keep Gilbert’s roads safer for everyone by giving officers more resources to curb dangerous driving behaviors. Read more here.

Austin is the kind of pup who fits right in from day one.
