Can you believe we're already talking about back-to-school events? Summer always seems endless until suddenly backpacks start showing up in store aisles.

Thankfully, there's still plenty of time to squeeze in pool days, family outings, and late dinners before the routine returns.
This is one of those weeks where Gilbert has a little bit of everything. If you've been hearing people rave about Bojangles for years, the wait is finally over. Add in fun events, shopping, and other ways to fill your calendar, and you've got a great excuse to get out and enjoy!

π Arizona's first Bojangles opens in Gilbert Monday

The Gist: Bojangles is opening its first Arizona location on Monday, July 20, at 3765 S. Val Vista Drive in Gilbert. Doors open at 5 AM, and the chain expects 1,000 to 1,500 customers on day one. The location will employ 60 to 70 people and marks the first of 20 planned Arizona restaurants.
Why It Matters: Gilbert keeps landing Valley firsts, and this one's been years in the making. Locals who've eaten Bojangles on road trips finally get seasoned chicken, biscuits, dirty rice, and sweet tea a short drive from home. Worth knowing: bone-in chicken won't be on the Arizona menu.
βοΈ Gilbert PD hosts Back-to-School Safety Night
The Gist: The Gilbert Police Department and the Maricopa County Attorney's Office are inviting local families to a free Back-to-School Family Safety Night on Thursday, August 6, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Hosted at the police department on 75 E Civic Center Drive, the evening will feature safety presentations on internet safety and teen violence prevention, a parent Q&A, and a community resource fair. Families are encouraged to register ahead of time online at gilbertaz.gov/familysafetynight.
Why It Matters: This event offers a warm, supportive space to get real answers from safety experts, connect with helpful local resources like Mind24/7, and make sure our neighborhood students head back to class feeling confident and cared for.
