🎃 Gilbert Packs October with Fall Fun

The Gist: Lean into autumn with a full calendar of family-friendly events all month long. From weekly Concerts in the Park at Water Tower Plaza to ice cream socials, pumpkin carving, and kids’ art workshops, there’s something for everyone. Highlights include the Sound Bites Music & Food Festival on October 11, the Pumpkin Dunk at Greenfield Pool on October 18, and spooky favorites like the BOO Bash and Cops ’N Goblins Trunk-or-Treat on October 25.

🚦 New Safety Signs at Busy Intersections

The Gist: Starting yesterday, Gilbert rolled out a six-month pilot program placing 80 to 100 special safety signs at 10 of the town’s busiest intersections. The brightly colored messages, some seasonal and even Gen-Z inspired, are designed to make drivers pause, reflect, and adjust habits.

Why It Matters: Gilbert recorded over 3,600 crashes last year, and town leaders hope these reminders will cut down on red-light running, speeding, and other risky driving. Crash data will be tracked to see if the signs make a difference. Read more here.
