There is something about a new coffee shop that instantly slips into the neighborhood rhythm, especially when mornings are chilly. This week, we are spotlighting a place made for slow sips and catch ups that last longer than planned.

Beyond coffee, there is a lot happening, students stepping into leadership at Town Hall, neighbors coming together for a food drive, and plenty of ways to show a little love around town.
Toss in Super Bowl plans and Valentine energy, and you have a full week ahead. Here’s the scoop on where to go, what to see, and who could use a helping hand.

🐝 The Best Drink Ever has found its home

2333 S Val Vista Dr, Gilbert, AZ
The morning light hits Better Buzz Coffee just right, turning the bustling energy of the room into a warm, neighborly hum.
It’s a spot designed for staying a while, where the signature creamy espresso of the Best Drink Ever is served alongside vibrant, fruit-topped acai bowls and savory pesto turkey sandwiches.
Everything here feels intentional, from the small-batch roast to the upbeat rhythm of the staff, making the local coffee run feel less like a chore and more like a high-point of the day.

💅 Where high fashion meets wellness drips

2206 E Williams Field Rd #106, Gilbert, AZ
With the big game coming in strong this weekend, Platinum Salon and Spa is hinting to trade those jerseys for something more polished right after. This space between Coach and Salt in Santan Village provides a quiet haven for a February reset.
Whether it is a precision cut or a restorative wellness drip, the team makes self care easy. Their gathering on the eleventh includes refreshments and beauty demos for twenty dollars. It is a thoughtful way to celebrate the Valentine’s season early with friends!

🏛️ Students Take Over Town Hall

The Gist: Local high schoolers can still apply for Student Government Day on March 31. Up to 50 participants will shadow town staff, lead a mock council meeting, and offer feedback on real community projects. This hands-on day at Town Hall includes a formal school excuse letter from the Mayor.
Why It Matters: This program gives our young neighbors a unique voice in local decisions and a chance to see how our town actually runs. Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. today, February 5. Interested students can apply online:
🥫 Helping Gilbert Neighbors Stay Fed

The Gist: The annual Gilbert Feeding Families food drive returns this February to restock local pantries after the busy holiday season. You can drop off nonperishable goods at local schools, churches, and businesses, or visit participating restaurants that are donating a portion of their sales. For those who prefer to give online, every dollar donated provides three full meals for a person in our community.
Why It Matters: Our collective donations ensure that every neighbor has access to a reliable meal during the time of year when food bank shelves often run low. The drive runs from February 9 through February 22.

Weighing only ten pounds, this tan-coated senior is looking for a quiet Tempe home where he can enjoy his golden years. He coexists well with calm dogs and would thrive with patient adults or older children.
