Spring is starting to feel real around here, especially with mornings warming up just enough to make brunch plans hard to resist. If you’ve driven around lately, you’ve probably noticed patios filling up and events popping onto every corner of the calendar.

This week’s lineup leans into that vibe in the best way. We’ve got feel-good local stories, a couple spots worth checking out, and plenty to do this weekend. If Easter plans are still up in the air, you’re in the right place.

🥞 Southern-inspired mornings for the culinary curious

2484 S Santan Village Pkwy #108, Gilbert, AZ
With Easter just around the corner, Another Broken Egg Cafe is prepping for the next holiday rush with its trademark blend of Southern hospitality and coastal flair.
While the Bourbon Street Pancakes (drizzled in a rich rum butter sauce) are a perennial draw, the comeback of the seasonal French Toast Colada is long awaited with a tropical, King’s Hawaiian getaway on a plate.
It’s a bright, bustling space where mimosas feel like a neighborly invitation to linger.

⛳️ Mastering the fairway without the sunburn

1614 N Higley Rd, Gilbert, AZ
The Back Nine Golf offers a 24/7 retreat where the Trackman technology is precise and the air conditioning is always crisp. As the Gilbert spring begins to warm up, finding a reliable way to keep your swing consistent is a breath of fresh air.
You can dive into a deep practice session during a quiet lunch hour or gather a few friends for a late-night round at Pebble Beach. With local pros on hand for lessons, it’s time to dial in those distances before heading out to the grass courses.
For a little extra excitement… a second spot is opening soon at Warner and Lindsey!

🌵 Leading the Way: The Women Shaping Our Town

The Gist: As we wrap up Women’s History Month, Gilbert is celebrating the local powerhouses keeping our town running—from Interim Town Manager Dawn Prince to Paramedic Michaela LaTraille. These leaders are tackling the "big stuff," like securing $30 million for water resiliency and managing high-tech "smart city" projects. Whether it’s Lieutenant Sharon Castronova mentoring at the police station or Dr. Sana Batarseh overseeing major engineering builds, these neighbors are proving that expertise and heart are the real engines behind our community services.
Why It Matters: Their stories aren't just about jobs; they’re about making sure the next generation of girls in our local parks and schools knows there’s a "road map" for them here. It’s a neighborly reminder that our town’s future is in steady, capable hands.
🏃♂️ From Finish Lines to "I Do"

The Gist: Matt and Kasie, just took "taking the plunge" to a whole new level by running the GOVX San Diego Half Marathon on their actual wedding morning. After 11 years of history, the couple tackled 13.1 miles in bride-and-groom running gear. Once they crossed the finish line (marking Kasie’s very first half-marathon!), they swapped their sneakers for formal wear to exchange vows overlooking the Pacific Ocean on March 22.
Why It Matters: It’s stories like this that remind us how much personality our Arizona community has; these two didn’t just follow tradition, they sprinted right through it to celebrate what they love. Seeing a local couple honor their journey from Phoenix Comicon to a San Diego altar with such grit and heart is a great reminder to keep chasing our own passions.
