We pulled together a mix that feels just right. A stacked burger and cold pint with friends, a sensory friendly morning that brings neighbors and first responders together, a hands-on museum day that sparks big ideas. This is simply why we love calling this place home.

Brews Taphouse has quickly settled into the neighborhood, offering the kind of easygoing reliability that makes it an instant go-to. The space opens up to a wide patio, perfect for a slow afternoon with a crisp house lager.

While the thirty-six rotating handles keep the beer list interesting, the kitchen's commitment to fresh ingredients is the real draw.

This month’s "Brewben" (a clever mashup of pastrami, sauerkraut, and a 6oz patty on marbled rye) is a standout example of their focus on bold, well-executed flavors. It’s a grounded, welcoming spot where the staff treats you like a regular from your first visit.

🥊 Throwing punches for a powerful cause

A quiet strength fills Rock Steady Boxing as neighbors gather to sharpen their balance and agility through rhythmic, non-contact drills. This space offers a supportive rhythm for those navigating Parkinson’s, turning daily exercise into a shared victory.

Between the steady thud of the bags and the upbeat music, there is a deep sense of local pride in every round. The community is currently gearing up for the Box4Bucks fitness challenge on April 18.

🚒 A morning for our special needs community

The Gist: Gilbert is hosting a free Public Safety Day on Saturday, March 28, at the Public Safety Training Facility. This sensory awareness event allows families to meet local police and fire teams in a comfortable, inclusive setting. Guests can ride a fire truck, see equipment up close, and even practice a simulated traffic stop to get familiar with law enforcement.

Why It Matters: It is a wonderful way for neighbors with sensory needs to build trusting relationships with first responders in a calm environment. The event runs from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on March 28. Free tickets are required to attend.

🎨 New Creative Adventures at idea Museum

The Gist The idea Museum in Mesa just launched three fresh exhibitions featuring hands-on engineering and local art. Visitors can experiment with giant Rube Goldberg chain-reaction machines, explore whimsical sculptures by Arizona artists, and view soulful portraits in the new Spotlight Gallery. From building complex contraptions to sketching with charcoal, there are plenty of new ways to create together.

Why It Matters These interactive spaces give our neighborhood a place to spark curiosity and play with science and art in a relaxed, local setting. The Rube Goldberg exhibition is open now and will remain at the museum through September 2026.

🐾 Meet Thumb Tack, a spirited 1-year-old mixed breed

He is ready to trade his difficult past for a quiet place in your heart. This medium-sized goofball has overcome a lot and truly shines when he is the center of attention.

While he is current on vaccinations and neutered, he thrives as the only dog in the home to ensure he gets all the cuddles he deserves. His compatibility with cats is unknown, but he is a loyal friend to his people. Adoption fee is typically $200 for adult dogs.
